Smug Character
This little guy is made of Sculpty and not Platercine so I was able to cook him and mount him on a block. He was inspired by one of the characters in The Graveyard Book written by Neil Gaiman.

Character Concept Sculpt.
Running out of Plasticine. Already depleted local store of its entire stock... thinking of cannibalism.
Here is number three, in the set. It appears I am hooked.
However, I might have to start thinking about building armatures for these, as during the "photo shoot" this lady's head started to roll back under the weight of all that hair.

High-Hat Leaguesmasters of the Leagues of Undertown from The Edge Chronocles series
Carrying on with my character sculpting. Number two in the series is a High-hat Leaguesmaster still from
The Edge Chronicles. I just love Chris Riddell's illustrations which this is based on.
I think I might do another tomorrow...
Wind Jackal Sculpt Based on an Illustration by Chris Riddell from the book series entitled The Edge Chronicles
Today
I decided to get back into sculpting, so I went out to the store and
bought up their entire stock of kids' Plasticine. I got a few odd
looks from the people working at the art store, as I suppose full grown
men are not suppose to this.
Then, I looked up a few how to videos
on line, that are just about as exciting as watching televised golf, and
had a go at sculpting one of the characters from a series of books I
read as a kid entitled The Edge Chronicles.
The story is illustrated by a wonderful British illustrator called
Chris Riddell and this my three-dimensional adaptation of the character
known as Wind Jackal.
Tomorrow I'll have a go at another!

This totally made my day! Neil Gaiman singing my poster!
My good friend Devin Stark went to the Vancouver Writers Festival and met Neil Gaiman in person. Little to my knowledge Devin printed out a copy of the poster I did of Mr. Gaiman and got him to sign it! Apparently he really liked it!
